A Thankful Heart

Each morning as a new day breaks

I say a little prayer

And thank the Lord with grateful heart

for blessings --everywhere.

For sunlit days and starry nights

and roses in the Spring

that captivate the senses

and cause my heart to sing........

For countless joys of Summer

and evening's summer breeze,

Sweet moments to remember

among treasured memories....

For Autumn's blaze of color

in shades of flame and gold,

For reverence at Thanksgiving,

uniting young and old....

For family ties at Christmas

where love is intertwined

with heightened hope and gladness

and prayers for all mankind.
