WELCOME RAIN
Sunday we had beautiful rain showers which made the field corn perk up again. The lawns are turning green again and everything looks beautiful. God is good!

Tip for Tuesday
Extend the life of flower in vase - Add a few drops of bleach to vase water to prevent build-up of the slime cased by bacteria. It works like chlorine in a swimming pool.

Where is the moisture we need?
We need rain at our house. It rains all around us but why does it not rain here? Hopefully it will reach us soon.

TIP FOR TUESDAY
Hide your PIN within a phone number.
It's tough to remember all your PIN numbers for bank cards, phone cards, and whatnot. Of course, it's not a good idea to write the PIN on the card itself. And it's not practical to carry small slips of paper with the number written on it everywhere you go. But you can use a simple trick to keep track of all your PIN numbers. Enter fake names in your address book and list what appear to be phone numbers - but are actually PIN numbers - beside it.

Sunday Was A Busy Day....
We went to First Jenison CRC for worship this morning. First Jenison is my brother Al's church. Al celebrated his 80th birthday with cake and coffee at the church after the worship service. This is the brother who had his second open-heart surgery about 3 months ago. There was a time when we were not sure he would be here for his birthday. So this was a very special day for him and his family. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were present for worship and fellowship as well. What a fun time everyone had. Of course, I did not take my camera so I don't have any pictures to show.

TIP FOR TUESDAY
Cleanse your hair with baking soda. Your hair has become a gathering place for old hair spray, gel, and other residue. Strip away the film in your hair with baking soda. Just blend a little baking soda with your regular shampoo. You can also try mixing baking soda with water and massaging it into your hair before you shampoo. Just be careful not to get any baking soda in your eyes.

HOW IS GOD GOOD WHEN TRAGEDY STRIKES?
My extended family has had a very stressful few weeks. My brothers grand-daughter Courtnie dead following the birth of her daughter. On March 23 tiny Riley Jo was born. Courtnie had a very normal pregnancy and a normal delivery. A few hours later her blood pressure went very low and they found she was bleeding internally. They rush her into surgery and stopped the bleeding. The next thing they knew she had a blood clot in her lung. They rushed her to Spectrum. Sometime within that time she had a heart attack (with 50% of her heart damaged). She was very ill for a few days and then seemed to be improving. She even was able to spend some time with her newborn and her year and half old son, Gabe. The family was beginning to think she would probably be home by the weekend. However, on April 2 her blood pressure went very low and she died. The family is devastated. Her husband is left with newborn Riley and little Gabe. Mike is a new Christian who found Christ after he was married to Courtnie. He has a wonderful testimony of God's saving Grace. But what an tremendous job he has ahead of him to raise these two little kids, by himself
He is a member of our church as well as Courtnie's parents and family. The church family has been very supportive of them all; holding them up with our prayers and support. It has affected our church family as well. I am so thankful they all belong to a caring church.
Our pastor preached on How is God Good when Tragedy Strikes. He used the story of Job as an example.
God's response to tragedy is THE CROSS. God's answer to tragedy is the EMPTY TOMB.
Romans 12: 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another.

Troubles with my Computer
On Wednesday morning I went to look up my blogs on my computer and I couldn't find them. WHAT? I have them in Internet Explorer and they were no-where to be found. I was very upset. I have them all listed in my "Favorites" and they were all gone.
So what does one do? I do not understand this said computer very well and when something is not working as usual, I don't know what to do. BUT I have a good friend who knows everything there is to know about computers (I think) and so I called her to see if she was having the same problem I was having. Well, she was not having any trouble and she said she would check it out and call me. Then today she stopped by and fixed it all up for me. I was sorry I was not home at the time but my husband was and she fixed the problem. I am so glad I have my blogs back. Someday I'm going to do something nice for her too. I guarantee it...........

A THOUGHT FOR THURSDAY
I volunteer at Love in Name of Christ. ( a second-hand shop) This is a quote I received from one of the volunteers.
"When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive - to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love - then make that day count." Steve Maraholi

Thinking Spring!
Today is the day to take down my Christmas/Winter decorations and think about Spring. It's very cold out but the sun is shining and I'm getting spring fever. Changing decor with the seasons is a big job but "someone has to do it". I plan on giving away some of the things I've had for years. Maybe replacing them with some new things later. Hope you all had a good weekend and have a good day.
My brother is home from the hospital and slowly gaining back his strength. We are so thankful.

Monday's Happening........
I'm happy to report my brother came thru his open-heart surgery. He is working hard on his recovery; slow, but sure. Thank you for your prayers and concern. Hopefully he will keep improving every day. It is a stressful time for him as well as his family. It has reminded all of us how to depend on our God for our every breath.

TIP FOR TUESDAY
We like to include fish in our diet. When buying frozen fish, check for frost inside the package. If it exists, the fish has probably been thawed and refrozen, which reduces its quality. Also avoid fish with white, cottony blotches. This indicates freezer burn.

IT'S MONDAY
It's 30 degrees. The snow is melting. The wind is blowing. Many schools are closed because of the ice on the gravel roads. It is a good day to stay inside.
My thoughts are on one of my big brothers. He is scheduled for open-heart surgery on Wednesday. He has a leakage in his arota. They will replace his arota. He has had a couple mini-strokes this past year. Just yesterday he had heart problems and was taken back to the hospital. They will keep him their until the surgery. We have many people praying for him and his family. It is a very stressful time for them all. We don't know what the future holds but we know who holds the future.

Mondays Happenings
I made Chicken Noodle Soup on the weekend. It is a recipe I found on one of the blogs. I made it in the crockpot and it turned out DELICIOUS. My neighbor was very ill recently and is recovering slowly so I brought some soup to her today. We had a nice visit and I hope she enjoys the soup. Why is it that when you do something nice for someone, it always makes you feel good?

TIP FOR TUESDAY
Enjoy a scented bath without spending a cent.
Want to feel pampered? Splash a little perfume or cologne into your next bath. It will smell great. You don't have to buy expensive products either -- just save bottles of the scents you no longer wear. It's a luxurious alternative to tossing them in the garbage.
