Tip for Tuesday

Brown sugar won't harden if an apple slice is placed in the container.
Enjoy your day.

What a Week........

I live in an area that rarely has any crime. I feel safe living in this area but I do lock our doors etc. Anyway, this pass week in an neighboring town two 18 year old boys had a disagreement and one took the life of the other. The boy who was killed was a friend of my neice and she cannot imagine something so tragic.

Then in another area near us there was a house fire and the owner died in this fire. This man had a history of alcohol abuse. I talked to the family and they are very sad that his life ended this way.

In these two happenings we have 3 sets of parents, along with family and many friends mourning the loss of loved ones. We have an 18 year boy in jail for the murder. So quickly lifes are change. My prayer is that somehow they can find the "peace" that only God can give.

ANOTHER SNOWSTORM

The weatherman was correct when he said
we were in for another snowstorm.
Sunday afternoon it started to snow and
we got around 5-6 inches of the fluffy stuff by evening.
Later it rained making it very slippery out.

What does one do when it is storming, evening church is cancelled?
One stays inside by the fireplace, gets her knitting out and
makes dish clothes and potholders.
One also reads.
One now has a very sore neck, I think, from sitting around
too much.

Be careful out their today!!

TIP FOR TUESDAY

Reducing static cling:
Pin a small safety pin to the seam of your slip
and you will not have a clingy skirt or dress.
Same thing works with slacks that cling
when wearing panty hose.
Place pin in seam of slack...to da!...
static is gone.

THRIFT STORE FIND

This past Friday I went thirft shopping at a store called "Revive" in our area. I found the neatest little jacket. It was marked down to $12.00. (If you look closely, you will see a RED mark across the label which means it is a winter item and all winter things were marked down 50%.) The scarve I purchased last year also at 50% off. The jacket is made of boiled wool in a dark gray. I love gray because you can wear it with so many other colors. Isn't fun to get a good deal? The proceeds from this store goes to help support the Christian schools in my area.

SOME GOOD ADVICE

We're on a journey here below,
Life has its twist and turns,
We'll be on many mountain tops,
But it's in the valleys that we learn.
Each day is full of promise,
So live it to the full.
Spend each minute wisely.
Don't forget the "Golden Rule".
God's on the journey with us,
Be it days of joy or pain.
This gift of life is precious;
To follow Him is gain.
Mary Ann Jameson

A TIP FOR TUESDAY

Expanding Frosting:
When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for a few minutes. You can double it in size. You get to frost more cake/cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less sugar and calories per serving.

Super Bowl Sunday

Did you enjoy the game? The Packers won, I understand. You probably notice by now, that I don't get to excited about Super Bowl Sunday. I'm not a football fan; mostly because I don't understand the game very well. Although I do have to learn the game because I have a grandson who is in 8th grade and is a very good football player for the local school.

What about the half-time show? I missed it. When I checked Facebook their were some who thought it was great and some not so much. I heard the music featured the Black-Eyed Peas. I'm not familiar with them myself.

I saw some of the commercials - some were cute, some I didn't get at all. So all in all, I guess there was something for everyone - we all have our likes and dislikes. One thing about TV, if we don't like it we can just turn it off. Have a good day.
