THOUGHT FOR THURSDAY

The secret of happy living is not to do what you like, but to like what you do.

TIP FOR TUESDAY

Put open, empty perfume or cologne bottles (or the fragrance cards from magazines) in your underwear drawer or linen closet.  The aroma will gently infuse your things.

MONDAY MUSINGS

Yesterday (Sunday) following our worship service we had a Potluck at church.  We were pleased with a great turn-out and a lot of delicious food.  This is the first potluck we've had in a long time.  The comments were "we should do this more often" and "when is the next one?"  It is quite a bite of work to set things up but it is so worth it!  A great time of good food and good fellowship.  What is better than that?

THOUGHT FOR THURSDAY

In God's sight, one is never so empty as when one is full of self.

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

TIP FOR TUESDAY

A hint I read about just the other day:

Do not put uncooked pasta in see-through (plastic or glass) containers.  Exposure to light contributes to the break-down of the vitamin content that's in fortified pasta.  Stored in airtight, non-see-through canisters in a cool, dry place, fortified pasta will retain its benefits for up to 18 months.

IT'S MONDAY

After a busy Easter  I found these beautiful flowers growing in our woods.  It always interests me in how seeds will blow into our woods and produce flowers amongst the weeds and trees. The Spring flowers remind me of Easter - a new beginning, new life.
HE IS RISEN!! HALLELUJAH!!  I hope you had a Blessed Easter..........

THOUGHT FOR THURSDAY

A good memory is fine - but the ability to forget is the true test of greatness.

TIP FOR TUESDAY

To keep fresh mushrooms fresh, keep them in a basket or in an open brown paper bag in the refrigerator. Do not wash or soak fresh mushrooms in water.  The mushrooms are sponge-like and they will absorb the water.  This will make them watery and tasteless.  Instead, clean them with a damp cloth, or gently scape them with a paring knife.

SPRING CLEANUP

Spring is here!  Lots of sunshine and lots of rain this past weekend.  My husband did begin to clean up the yard and put the bricks around our side yard.  We have a big yard so we have a lot of work to do yet.  But it is a start.........

THOUGHT FOR THURSDAY

Ideas are funny little things.  They don't work unless you do.

TIP FOR TUESDAY

Best way to remove the fat after making homemade soup:
If time allows, the best method of removing fat is refrigeration until the fat hardens.  If you put a piece of waxed paper over the top of the soup, etc. it can be peeled off, along with the hardened fat.

Monday Happenings

I'm off to put in my time at Love in the Name of Christ.  Love is a thrift store in Allendale, MI.
It's fun to volunteer at a place like that because you never know what treasure one will find.  The funds generated from the store go to help people pay for their rent, heating bills, food, etc.  It isn't used as a hand-out but a "hand-up".   Enjoy your day!

A THOUGHT FOR THURSDAY

The tongue has no bones, but it is strong enough to break a heart; so be careful with your words.
