Thoughts for Thursday
Let's Not Forget
Amidst the hustle bustle
of our busy world today,
Let's stop and take a minute
to thank the Lord and pray.
Let's not forget His precious gift,
the reason why He came...
Salvation is in Christ alone,
not any other name.
From a baby in a manger
to the cross of Calvary...
Christ entered earth with us in mind.
He came to set us free.
How blessed we are to have a God
who wants us to receive
Eternal life wrapped in His arms....
It's our, if we'll believe.

Tips for Tuesday
Tips for cleaning an iron:
Cleaning the vent holes - Many times the vent holes in the bottom of the iron will become clogged. Take a pipe cleaner and clean out each hole individually. Always empty steam irons after each use to prevent clogging.
I put aluminum foil under the ironing board cover. It reflects heat onto the garment as you iron and cuts ironing time.
To help covers last longer and stay clean longer, spray them with spray starch once the cover is on the board and iron the starch in well.

They hurt!!
I've been experiencing leg/foot cramps lately. They can come anytime but especially in my sleep. They are very uncomfortable, to say the least. Do anyone of you who read my blog experience them? Do you have a remedy? Please let me hear your suggestions. They hurt!

Goodiy Boxes for our college students
Our Bible study group put together boxes of goodies for our college students who live on campus.
We have 8 kids enrolled in college who live on campus. Each lady in our group came with a few items to pack for the kids.
Last year we did this too. We also packed a box for our one serviceman who is stationed in Afghanistan.
The kids appreciate it and we love doing it. We are trying to show that our young people and our servicemen are very important to us and our church.

Blessings to Share
A loving smile,
A tender touch,
A thoughtful word -
They mean so much.
A helping hand
In time of need,
Encouragement
for each good deed.
A chance for play,
When work is done,
To savor life
and well-earned fun.
With blessings such
as these to share,
We turn to God
in thankful prayer.

Old Valentines
I have a collection of old Valentines that my aunt & uncle gave to each other. My camera does not do them justice but I wanted to share them with my blogging friends. I framed them to preserve them the best I can. Each year I get them out and display them during the Valentine season. Hope you enjoy them.......................

Where are my pictures?
I could take pictures with my camera but could not put them into my computer. This happened suddenly. I tried and tried but it won't work. Soooooooooooo I took it into Staples on Wednesday. I picked it up again today (Friday). So I get it home, plug it in; it works. Only cost me $39.99. Not so bad - they do not know what happened but when they cleaned it up etc. , it worked. I didn't realize how much the computer is a part of my life until I didn't have it. I missed visiting my blog friends. I'm glad I'm back. Have a fun week-end.

Dishwasher Spot Stopper
I purchased the book entitled TALKING DIRTY WITH THE QUEEN OF CLEAN by Linda Cobb. Here are some ways baking soda can help you with your cleaning duties:
Baking soda is a great deodorizer, cleaner and mild abrasive. Use as you would a sofe-scrubbing product or cleanser in tubs and sinks.
Keep food disposals fresh and free-flowing by putting the stopper in the disposal and adding 3 inches of warm water and a handful of baking soda. Turn on the disposal and let water run out.
Remove perspiration stains and odor from clothing by applying a paste of baking soda and water and letting it soak 30 minutes prior to laundering.
Mix 1 gallon of warm water and 1/4 cup of baking soda. Soak freshly washed socks in this for 30 minutes. Spin out in the washer (do not rinse out the solution), dry and you will have odor-eater socks.
Clean smudges on wallpaper with baking soda and water.
Remove crayon from hard surface as a mild abrasive to remove stains. (sorry kids, your art work has to gooooooooooooo)

Little Things
It's just the little things we do
that make us wealth,y I have found -
A smile, a hug, or just a handshake.
These things make the world go 'round.
A phone call or just a cheerful note
to brighten someone's day.....
And spending time with children
as they learn, and as they play.
It's not the fortune, or the fame;
It's not the way we dress.
It's not the people we meet -
all of this does not impress.
It's just the kindness that we show,
forgiveness, mixed with care and love.
It's just the little things we do,
as God observes us from above.
