TIP FOR TUESDAY
Clean your glasses - Here's a tip that's right on the money. Use a dollar bill - or a $5, $10, or $20 bill - to clean your eyeglasses or sunglasses. It will pay off in the form of clear, streak-free lenses.
Children's Christmas Program
We went to the children's Christmas program at church last night. How happy and proud the kids were as they sang their little hearts out. Everyone knew there lines and even the youngest ones knew the songs and sang so well. They were not afraid to let the Good News.
Our Pastor challenged us to "become like little children" as we share the gospel with the people we come in contact with each day.

THOUGHT FOR THURSDAY
Jesus was content to be born in a stable so that we may have a manison when we die....
Though he was rich....he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

Second eye surgery
I had the cataract removed from my left eye this past Monday. Everything went well. But I'm still a bit tipsy. I need to do drops in my eyes 4 times a day for this week and next; then 3 times for a week, then 2 times for a week and then I'm done. I have a eye appointment the first week of January 2013 for new glasses. Can't wait for that.
My thought for Thursday is this --
We would worry less about what others think of us if we realized how seldom they do.

TIP FOR TUESDAY
Stop pussyfooting around ice sidewalks:
When your outside deck or sidewalks turn into a ice skating rink toss cat litter onto your sidewalk instead of salt. The litter will provide traction, but it won't damage the walk, unlike salt.

THOUGHT FOR THURSDAY
A quote from Ruth Bell Graham -
The center of power is not to be found in summit meetings or in peace conferences. It is not in Peking or Washington or the United Nations, but rather where a child of God prays in the power of the Spirit for God's will to be done in his life, in his home, and in the world about him.

TIP FOR TUESDAY
Learm a great way to grate cheese.
If you place your cheese grater in the freezer for several minutes before grating, cheese won't stick to the metal. Running it under cold water will work too, but be sure to dry it completely before grating.

TIP FOR TUESDAY
Hold up your boots with a bottle:
No need to keep tripping on those tall boots slumped over in your closet. Just place an empty, one or two liter, plastic soda bottle in each boot. They will stand at attention without the cost of expensive wooden inserts to keep them upright.

A REUNION
Last Saturday evening we had a Chiveree Reunion at Windmill Restaurant in Holland, Mi. Many of you may not know what chivereeing is all about. Back in the olden days people used to go to wedding receptions and make a lot of noise, with pots and pans etc. When the bride and groom had enough of this noise they would pay the group to leave. Well, my husband was part of that group. When the last of the guys got married he said he would pay them but they had to use the money for a get-together of all the members of the chirveree group. That was 49 years ago.
So every year since then we have been getting together for a reunion. First we had a picnic, but after several years and with our families grown, we decided to go to a restaurant to celebrate. We had 34 people at this one on Saturday night. This includes the men and their spouses. We have some widows and widowers that come too. The oldest man is 81 years old. Each year we miss one or two because of death. At this time we are all retired; some come with canes and walkers. All in all we have a really good time - telling stories of when we were younger and sometimes foolish. The meal was delicious and a good time was had by all.

A Little Bit of This & That
It is cold in my neck of the woods this morning. 30 degrees. Time to put the electric blanket back on our bed. I run the furnace too this morning to get the chill out of the house. As I type the sun is coming out so it should be a nice day.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend and are ready to begin the week.

TIP FOR TUESDAY
Freeze your Cookie Dough:
You can freeze slice-and-bake cookie dough in wax paper p to three months. Better yet, if dough is tightly wrapped in freezer-weight plastic wrap or heavy-duty aluminum foil, you can freeze it up to one year.
If the dough is too hard to slice, let it stand at room temperature 15 to 30 minutes.
To keep the dough round when slicing, turn the roll a quarter turn every four slices.

BACK FROM CAMPING
We spend two weeks at Ottawa Beach with my brother and his wife.
We had a great time. It is very hot most of the time but our trailer
was in the shade a good part of the day.
This was first time out with our new trailer. It is some bigger than
our old one which made it much more enjoyable.
Our trailer isn't brand new - just new to us.

COMMUNITY WORSHIP SERVICE
Sunday evening we attended the community worship service held in the Allendale Park. Believers from various churches met together to thank God for our country and the freedoms we enjoy.
Sometimes when I hear the news or read the papers I wonder just how long we will have this freedom. The freedom to meet in a public place to worship and to honor the One and Only True God without anyone tiring to put a stop to it.
Sometimes it seems like our freedoms are being taken away. We have so much goverment control these days; so many laws and regulations. Common sense should tell us what to do instead of having a law to dictate what we should do. Common sense? We don't hear much of that these days.
What will our world be like for our children and grandchildren? We don't know what the future holds BUT we do know who holds the future. That is our comfort, our hope and our promise. OUR GOD REIGNS!!

TROUBLE WITH MY COMPUTER
I was looking on my computer last week when all of a sudden there came a screen on saying my computer had a virus and it was ready to crush. I didn't know what to do so I called Staples (the store I bought my computer from a year ago). They told me not to touch anything and to bring it in. There was a virus. I do have Norton Virus protection but the virus got through. I did have to pay for them to fix it So $150.00 later my computer is up and running again. Hopefully it won't happen again.
