HELP!!

I have a wallpaper border in our bathroom which we are trying to remove. We purchased DIF wallpaper stripper and got the top layer off (with much difficulty). Now we have the sticky paste on yet and cannot get it off. We tried DIF, vinegar and nothing works. If anyone out in blogland has any advice for us we would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in advance. Thankfully it was just a border.

We used diluted fabric softener to get our Dining room paper down a few years ago. We had a horrible time with it and tried a few different things. I don't know how it would work on the sticky part, but it worked better than the DIF on our paper and was cheaper. You could try a little sections I suppose.
After that fiasco, I said no more wallpaper, ever!

I used an acid wash that I got at the paint store. It still didn't really take off the paste as well as I would have liked. I had to paint the wall twice to make it smoothe.
